The TechAlert™ Diviner is an intelligent in-line sensor that can detect the presence of water in hydrocarbon fluids.

Water infiltration is a major source of mechanical degradation in lubrication and hydraulic circuits because it attacks metal components fostering oxidation, and also degrades the mechanical parameters of the oils used in these applications. Further, water can cause strong erosive effects and severe pitting of bearings and races.

By monitoring relative humidity, even small amounts of water can be detected up to the point of emulsification of the fluid. Thus, sources of water infiltration can be identified and corrective action taken before undesirable effects manifest themselves. Because the sensor contains all required electronics to output digital signals, it can easily be integrated into almost any machine condition sensor network.
